Why Choose TPO?

Thermoplastic polyolefin, referred to as TPO, is the most widely installed single-ply membrane in low-slope commercial roofing. It achieved market leadership due to its long-term performance, reflectivity and installation advantages.

Kingspan TPO Roofing Systems feature high-performance membranes designed to deliver long-term value, giving contractors and building owners confidence in every application.

Key Benefits of Kingspan TPO

Energy Efficiency

Kingspan TPO reflects solar heat to help lower roof temperatures and reduce cooling costs. It meets or exceeds cool roofing codes, including IECC and California Title 24.

High Performance

Kingspan TPO is durable, UV- and heat-resistant membrane with strong reinforcement, cold-climate flexibility, wide 12 ft. rolls, and up to 80 mil thickness, ASTM D6878 compliant and backed by warranties up to 30 years.

Ease of Installation

TPO is lightweight and easy to work with, allowing for quicker installation. Its heat-weldable seams and prefabricated flashing options help reduce labor time and keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Lower Environmental Impact

Kingspan TPO is chlorine-free, 100% recyclable, and made with at least 5% post-industrial recycled content, supporting more sustainable material use.

Membrane Options

Choose the right TPO Membrane Thickness to meet your project needs and protect your investment.

Kingspan TPO 080

Thickest TPO membrane for max protection and durability, top resistance to hail and punctures, cost-effective long-term, with up to 30-year warranties.

Kingspan TPO 060

Most popular thickness offering durability, impact and weather resistance, cost-effective over time, with warranty options up to 30 years.

Kingspan TPO 045

Kingspan’s thinnest TPO offers entry-level performance and weatherability at the lowest cost, with warranty options available for up to 20 years.

Different Installation Methods

Kingspan TPO membranes support multiple approved installation methods, providing flexibility for jobsite conditions and designer preferences.

Mechanically Attached

with Fasteners & Plates

Most common attachment method. Fasteners and plates are used to attach the TPO membrane directly to the roof deck.

Adjacent membrane sheets are overlapped and heat-welded to form a strong, watertight seal.

Induction-Welded

with Fasteners & Induction-Welded Plates

TPO membrane is attached with fasteners and induction-welded plates.

Plates are welded to the membrane backside ensuring a strong securement.

Provides more uniform deck loading than standard mechanical systems.

Adhered

with bonding adhesive

TPO is adhered to the substrate using bonding adhesive on both surfaces.

Ensures strong adhesion, reducing air/vapor movement and condensation in the roofing assembly.

Offers a clean look with strong wind resistance.

Superior Waterproofing

TPO seams are hot-air welded to form a strong, waterproof bond that minimizes the risk of seam failures. The membranes are also highly resistant to water, maintaining performance even under standing water.
